3X at Forever 21 Question (and a bit of a rant ...well maybe not a bit)

Sep 01, 2012 20:24

So I have a quick question for you fellow fatshionistas. Is it my stores or yours as well, does it seem like they carry only ONE 3X of most items? I have been to two Forever21's that carry the Plus line and Store A which is closer to my home barely has any 3X's. I've checked out the new items and there's almost always one 3X. Store B, there isn't ( Read more... )

My F21 (Bakersfield, CA) always has a bunch of everything in every size. It's also the biggest F21 Plus section I've seen. I also go to Vegas regularly and the one in the Fashion Show mall is smaller than Bakersfield, but has just as many 2 and 3 Xs.

I absolutely don't mind if you refuse, but if you're ever shopping there, would you mind looking for the navy blazer in 3X?

It's not quite the same, but they have this one in a 3x online in all three available colors. It's cute and at the price, I wish I fit into them cause I'd buy all 3. Good luck finding the navy one!

The navy one, not only could it match a lot of outfits. But I had the perfect outfit planned for an interview for a new job. But I ended up wearing a cardigan.

Eugh, that's a crappy experience to be sure. I work in retail myself and it just baffles me when other people in retail can't handle basic customer service and reserve an item for someone, or at LEAST, if reserving items is against company policy or whatever, say "we can only hold it for you for X number of hours". I mean, seriously, how hard is that?

I'm UK-based so I have no solutions for you, I'm afraid. I just wanted to offer you my fullest and most heartfelt sympathy.

What's funny was I thought it was ridiculous because I had seen the jacket a week before and when I had my interview outfit planned and thought of the blazer, called in -and you know the rest- that it was put back on the racks and sold that same day. Someone could have bought it between that whole time.

And thank you for your words! If you happen to see it in the UK, honestly I don't mind the shipping fees.

I've noticed a big disparity in stores that carry the plus line... you would think the Times Square location in NYC would have a lot of items since it's four whole floors, but I haven't seen a pair of pants there above a size 12 (or anything in a 3x) in about a year. Meanwhile at a location in the suburbs (Roosevelt Field Mall, for anyone on Long Island) I noticed they recently expanded the plus sized section and moved it from the basement to the ~*main level of the store*~. (Unfortunately I can't get to that location easily, or I'd look for that blazer for you!)

Also, how sad is it that I was shocked that "my clothes" were right by the entrance to the store and not shoved in a corner like they usually are...

So the Times Square location doesn't have a plus size section? That's four floors!
At both of my locations, it's all the way in the back of the store. Store A went from a whole section to a corner =/

It might depend on the sales volume of that store. I used to work in a Lane Bryant, and we'd only get about a quarter (or less) of 26/28's compared to the other sizes, and never any 30/32s despite advertising that we carried it. When I asked, I was told we weren't in the right sales tier, so the company wouldn't send us stock.

I'm sorry they were so dismissive and rude.

Thank you for your sympathy! Maybe I'm not in retail, but I don't understand why there were plenty of xls and 1xs left- that should be an indicator we need more 2xs/3xs.
