eloquii in stores

Just wanted to give folks who didn't know a heads up that eloquii now has shops in 6 of The Limited stores around the country. Click here for a current listing. Their stuff isn't all that awesome, but it's another option at the mall beyond icky Lane Bryant.

Yay, there's one in the DC area at Pentagon City! Taking the number of plus size stores in ( Read more... )

I'm near Troy, MI and can't believe that Eloquii opened at the Somerset Collection! The Somerset Collection is high-end (there's a Neiman Marcus, Saks, Barneys Co-Op, etc.). Aside from Macy's and Nordstrom, there weren't any other plus size options before Eloquii opened. I'm hoping it does well so that it can expand, though! The in-store deals aren't quite what the online deals are, but it's nice to be able to try some things on.

Whee, St. Louis! That means I have to go to the snobby, stuffy Galleria, but I really, really want to try on their pants. Thanks for the info!

What other plus-size store is there in Pentagon City? And I had no idea the F21 there had a plus-size section! I thought the only store in the area with their plus line was on F Street! Their website says the one in the Montgomery Mall in Bethesda has it, so I was VERY displeased when I trekked all the way there to find out they didn't carry it, they'd never carried it, and they apparently have no plans to ever carry it. -_-

There is a Lane Bryant there -- it has a big lingerie dept. but a very small sale section.

The Forever 21 there has a much bigger F21+ section than the one on F St, and a big shoe and accessory dept.

I didn't mention the Macy's, for some reason, but it has a HUGE plus dept. and lots of sales.

And now there is eloquii. I didn't even know PC had a Limited, but I'm definitely heading over there tonight!

Nordstrom also has a nice plus size department - and they are having the anniversary sale right now so there are some good items on sale.

-they don't keep staples in stock, so you can only shop seasonally

-the phrase "real women" is offensive

-sizing is inconsistent

-in 2011 they decreased their largest size from 32 to 28 without alerting customers

-the largest size is 28, but the largest underwire bra band-size is 46. WTF? (they currently offer 1 underwire bra in 2 colors in a 48 and 50 band)

-they don't care what "real women" actually need. they claim to be the go-to for "real women" without actually taking "real women"s lives into consideration. 75% of their clothes sold outside of fall are inappropriate for "real" life ( ... )

thanks so much for this! i know why I don't like LB but it's great to hear confirmation. I sometimes get the side eye from my firends when I tell them I don't like them but I can never articulate myself well enough to truly explain why. Have you ever wrote them with your qualms/issues with them?

fwiw, i went over there today (pentagon city in virginia), and was surprised to find that, unlike so many stores who try to hide the fact that they sell plus sizes (f21, for ex, does not display it's plus dept anywhere, even though all other depts have signs placed above the dept to indicate which line of clothes it is), there are huge billboard-like signs inside the mall advertising "the new limited" and eloquii's "full figured fashions", which i thought was kid of awesome. however, not surprisingly, there wasn't a big selection -- "8 cabinets plus all the tables in front" i was told -- however, there was enough selection that you could try stuff on to get an idea of how things will fit. they even had a bunch of belts, which i thought was pretty nice. i'll still confine my purchases to online, though.

and, just to give a little plug to eloquii, i wear a size 26 with broad shoulders/heavy upper arms/full chest, and their size 24s fit me just fine, although the button-downs do gape a little.
