Slight Rant--why oh why do the zippers on pants from Torrid constantly fall down?

Jan 26, 2012 09:36

I've purchased Source of Wisdom pants and Tripp pants from Torrid and inevitably the zipper starts its decent downwards at the most inappropriate times. I know the safety pin trick and will continue to use this because I can find extra short sizes at Torrid in pant styles that are cute ( Read more... )

I have that trouble with old navy pants. I have to safety pin them from the inside so as not to flash people.

That's the solution I used when I was a few months pregnant.

I also have a pair of SOW capris where the zipper doesn't stay up.

Loop a rubber band or hair tie through the loop in the zip, and hook it around the button. I know if I ever tried safety pinning something while wearing it, I would stab myself.

I don't have any pants from Torrid but I do have a couple of zipper ideas. First off, do you make sure to flip the zipper tab down after you zip them up? Some zips "lock" in place if you do this.

If that doesn't work the other thing you can do is replace the zipper slide. Alterations shops will do it for not too much (quite a bit less than replacing the whole zipper) or you can do it yourself - http://www.ehow.com/how_2202453_remove-replace-old-zipper-slider.html

I've had problems with Lane Bryant jeans doing that too. I've found that hair elastics have to be replaced after awhile. I use a an old key ring- stick it on the tab and put the ring over the button. Doesn't show at all :-)

Thanks for the tip -- I have the same problem with my LB jeans, and thought I'd have to get the zipper replaced.
