Thank you for validating my Avenue experience! I bought six-ish pairs of tights recently (and I am within the size range for E, the largest size the patterned tights come in - like it woulda been the end of the world to make them in EE or something... but I digress). They were SO SO SO small. I managed to get them on my body and up to that place between the top of my vulva and the bottom of my stomach... and said you know what? Fuck this noise. I am holding them up with my underwear.
And so I became a superhero. Super Fat, holding her tights up with her underwear.
(I was the same size last winter and the E tights were all baggy on me! What the everloving shit, Avenue?)

Ah yes, but if you have a particularly stubborn pair of tights this can backfire. Which is why I can never apply to the UM Business School. The end. :D
Avenue is just so baggy on me. I bought "skinny jeans" from them in a size 26 (I should note that in my waist, I'm a size 28/30 but only in my waist) and not only were they too big, they fit like boot cut jeans. :/
I used to love Avenue, and actually thought they had some cute stuff. But the last 6 months I discovered Torrid, and now go nowhere else.
the other day, curiously, i wandered into the avenue where i had shopped obsessively for awhile and saw a skirt that I was interested in. I picked the size I always use and, yep, too small.
It really surprised me. It is helpful to hear from others with these kinds of problems; helps me realize that it's not ME that's changed.
It bothers me that F21+ doesn't carry ANY Love21 type stuff. A lot of Love21 pieces remind me of something I'd find at Anthropologie (my favorite store), and a cheaper version of Anthropologie that carries my size would be heaven. F21+ just isn't my style, though I do love that they carry colored skinny jeans!
As for Avenue -- C/D goes up to 6'0", 275 pounds, and I'm 5'10.5", 265 pounds. Because of that, I've always just bought a size E, and they fit perfectly. I tried C/D once and ripped the pair to shreds (they were netted). I definitely think sizing up is helpful! I couldn't imagine someone at the high end of the size E chart fitting into my netted tights, in particular.
