42H Sport Bra?

Jun 24, 2011 12:57

I think I want to give Zumba a try, but I've heard that I WILL need a sports bra.  I've never tried on a sports bra that actually fit and/or gave any support to the girls.  Any suggestions?  I'm a 42H and would like to NOT have to spend a small fortune if possible.

TIA

the only sports bra that I have ever found to actually support is the Enell and they are expensive but you can check Ebay for cheaper ones.

I should add that Enell is vital for me if I am jumping, trying to run, etc. If i want more support but don't feel like strapping myself into it, I wear a non-wired softcup bra from Lane Bryant with a regular stretchy sports bra over it.

I looked at Enell a long time ago, but I don't think they go big enough (or didn't a couple of years ago anyway.)

It costs only $15 for them to custom fit you. It's super easy. I'm wearing custom Enell bras, and I can literally do jumping jacks for the first time in a decade. Let me know if you have any specific questions, I just did this pretty recently.

The only major downside of an Enell, as far as I can tell, is that if you vary in weight/circumference the bra stops fitting pretty quickly (since it has to be a tight fit & there is only one set of front hooks).

This is the one I wear. I'm afraid it ain't cheap, but I've been wearing it to work out at the gym (elliptical, treadmill, weights) for two years. I probably should replace it, but it still holds my girls in.

I wear a 36K, but it's available in your size too.

I second the rec for the Elomi Energise! That bra is great. Be warned though that the band is really tight. I normally wear a 40GG(UK)/40J(US) with Elomi and Goddess, but for the Energise I had to go up in bandsize to 42G(UK)/42i(US). The Energise comes in 44 GG too, so it should fit you even if you find the bandsize too tight.

I guess it was a bit tight in the beginning, but it stretched plenty for me. I also seem to remember it chafing a bit, under my arm, and I used to tuck my shirt under the bra just there. It's been broken in for so long now that I forgot that stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to look into that one.

I never wear sport bras to work out, but I've only been up to a D. There is definetly lots of bouncing around in Zumba!

I'm the same size and the only one I've found is the Enell. I bought it on ebay for pretty reasonable.

Oh, you beat me to it: :) I just remembered seeing this sportsbra on the Goddess webpage that goes up to 48 i and wanted to post it here.

I would be wary about it though, it is a softcup and "medium control" and works on the "smooch them down" principle which is not so good on big boobs. But for 44 USD it might be more within your budget.
