As a pixie cut devotee, I feel I must chime in. :)
I think you could pull it off, but go with wispy short bangs kind of brushed to the side and a cut that's longer on the crown than the sides and back, and maybe consider a different hair color. Deep cool red would look amazing on you. Your natural hair color washes you out (and I speak from experience on this front). Go with something more vivid that will bring out both your clear skin and your eyes.
If you don't want to go all the way to a pixie just yet, try a cheek-length bob with short, wispy bangs, again in a vivid color. (Not black, though. I think it would overwhelm you.) Definitely go short, though. Your longer hair overwhelms your face and makes you look older and a little sloppy.
Oh, and I totally dare you to put some rhinestones or pearls on your glasses. :)
I love short hair and have worn it very short for years. Whenever I consider it letting it grow out, I feel less pulled together and professional, so I chop it off, LOL

I just got my hair cut short and dyed a deep red. This was my inspiration shot, and I think something like that could be a good compromise for you. It has just a little bit of length in the front which can be pinned back to change up your look. Be prepared to get some product and cute hair clips. Short hair is easier than long, but you still need to play with it a bit to get it to behave some mornings!

I do definitely think I want to go short enough for a pixie - the last few times I've gone chin length were a bit of a disaster.
