I have these in brown. What's your calf circumference, because that may help you make your decision. I usually wear a 9.5 and have a 20.5 inch calf. I ordered a 10, because I wanted to wear orthotic inserts with them. They just fit my foot and are a little too tight in the calf, even with the (long, not pictured on the site) gore stretched to the limit. I definitely couldn't wear thick socks or jeans. But I have gargantuan calves.

The foot is actually too small for my orthotics, which makes me think that they run fairly true to size. I'm glad I didn't get a 9. But I've heard other folks describe these as very large and loose, so it may just depend on the shape of your calf/foot. My foot is average, so if yours is wide, you may want to hop up to a 12. Better to be a bit big and have to wear socks, than to be too small and not be able to return them.

yeah. to me, they run a little large. i have the 11. and i usually wear an 11. i have inserts in them and still have room.

I wear a size 10 and got an 11. They fit great on the foot but are tight and take some moaning and groaning getting them zipped up to my knee... but I also have very large calves.

I have them in a 10 and I find them quite roomy in both the foot and the calf.

i'm usually an 8.5 and I got an 8.. they fit but not really with socks, I would have been better off with a 9
