Hey y'all. Since I strongly prefer to bra shop in person, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good specialty bra store in the DC metro area? I live in Reston and work in Chantilly so anywhere in that vicinity would be awesome too. Thanks ( Read more... )

I've been to Trousseau in Vienna, Sylene which is where DC meets Maryland, and Dor-Ne Corset Shoppe in Silver Spring. Trousseau and Sylene are pretty good, but I was sort of topping them out at 46H. If you're smaller than that, then I'm sure they're wonderful.

Dor-Ne is the bomb. It looks like a lot of nothing, both from the website, and from the outside of the shop. And they don't show much merchandise on the floor. That's because every customer is personally fitted by an attendant, who gets merchandise from the back. These women know their shit. I was *amazed*.

Best of luck!

Oh, postscripts:

1. The Full Cup in Alexandria is newer, and I haven't been there, but it seems like a possibility.

2. None of these places are cheap. Sorry.

I recommend the Full Cup in Alexandria. I have been there and they took great care of me.

If there is a Nordstrom, I'd go there.

Agreed - best experience I've ever had bra-shopping in the DC area was at the Pentagon City Nordstrom. They had a wide range of styles and prices in my size. (I'm going to have to try Full Cup though - never been there!)

Do you know what cup size Nordstrom's goes up to?

They've fitted me up to a FF and I've seen larger cup sizes. If they don't have the bra in the size you want, they ship it to you for free if they have it in another store.

I have been to full cup and had a very good experience. while the bras are pricey.. they fit and last if you take care of them right... I would def. recommend it!
