Advice for a Sales Post Newb?

So, for awhile now I've been wanting to post a sales post. I do have alot of clothes piling up that I don't really wear or no longer fit, and I desperately need money, but 've never sold anything online before. I've read the sales post guidelines and they state specifics about how to format a sales post and such, I'm just wondering about more basic

Can you go in and pick up the envelopes or boxes to take home and fill, or do you have to pack and use them at the post office?

You can take them home to pack them, the post office closest to me doesn't say anything.. besides, they're free. :P

Also, you can order free packing supplies from usps.com (shipping to your house is free too) if you don't feel comfortable taking them from the post office.

if you think its worth 10 dollars price it that way if someone doesnt like it they will haggle.

That's interesting to know. It never would have occurred to me to haggle with someone on here, I would have thought it rude. And I've passed on many things that I thought were just a hedge too high for me.

You've gotten some fantastic advice, and since I'm a total SP virgin, myself, I have nothing to contribute on that end. However, I second the motion for a "Selling for Newbs" resource made available on the site. The only thing I've ever sold online is a mini fridge on Craigslist, which requires somewhat different sets of details than clothes that will have to be shipped. I have some fantastic pants in great condition that just don't fit me anymore and since money is so tight, I would really love to be able to make something off of them, but I haven't because I'm terrified of doing it wrong! A detailed and easily-accessed community resource would encourage people like me to participate in sales posts, I would imagine.
