I usually cut the spaghetti straps off and replace them with wider straps - otherwise they cut into my shoulders. Transparent bra straps and a low-cut bra work for me.

You said D cups so, at Victoria's Secret they have a super plunge bra with convertible straps that is definitely worth taking a look at.

unfortuantely VS has my cup size but not my band size. I could probably do a 40D but not very comfortably when it's not really designed for a full figure, so I really need 42D or DD :\

We have the same bra size! I'm into the demi bra from cacique that they have at LB, seen here: http://www.lanebryant.com/pagebuilder/lane_bryant_product_page?pagesize=3&my_nav=cacique_intimates&cat=bras&subcat=demi%20underwire&item=1921295&s19c=2

the straps are convertible, so it could theoretically be worn as a halter.

Super cute dress! WANT!

Try Nordstrom if there is one near you. You'll get fitted accurately and they have a really great selection of larger sizes (I'm 36DD/F/H depending on the company) that don't require special ordering. And I'm talking about cute bras, not lame-o, boring, industrial looking boulder holders. I will admit that they can be more expensive, but they are well made, long lasting and worth every penny.

Good luck!

There are several, I will give that a try. The internet is not a great place for me to buy bras XD

Go in and try on, you won't be sorry. There is a line they carry called Freya that has a plus size line as well called Elomi. I've only seen the catalogue, but there are a couple designs that they do in both lines. And all are super sexy. You can look at the lines online and then hit up a store for sizing then have the store order & ship to you.

have you tried it without a bra?
i have pretty huge boobs & they are NOT perky anymore
& i was incredibly surprised that a couple of dresses
i have in almost that same style provided enough support
without a bra cause they were tight enough in the cups.

give it a try, wear it around the house for like an hr
or so & see if you shift around in it to where you feel
like you would need a bra or if its ok without one.
its a beautiful dress btw!
:)

as I said in my post it does work without a bra, but it doesn't look very good. It would look better with more support.
