Hi people!

I did some shopping therapy a couple of days ago. I thought I would post something I was really happy with, and another thing I would like some advice on.

Hm. My belly pokes out like that when I'm naked, so I'm not sure that it's a waistband thing, sometimes bellies look like that. Though I have to say that I have never seen another belly like mine, so this makes me happy!

That top is super cute and looks great with that skirt. I've been thinking about trying the Spanx higher power things to smooth out that region on myself, so if you're self conscious about it, maybe it's something you want to try, too?

I have that stripey top and I don't think I've worn it yet. It doesn't fit me quite right either, but cute! Stripey! I can't let it go!

The stripey top looks like something I would have to work really hard with major shoes/face/hair/accessories, just to make it clear that I was Doing It On Purpose.

I seem to have about three days a year I'm up for something like that. But this community is helping.

Doing what on purpose? hahaha, just kidding.

I am okay with dressing "uniquely," haha. I just have a natural talent for "sloppy" that I have to try to curb.

We are a similar shape. I'd return the shirt and go for something with a bit more sleeve to make your shoulders a bit more prominent to balance hips. I'd also look for a deeper v neck.
*grimace* not meaning to be negative, but you're clearly uncomfortable and self conscious in it and you're too cute to deal with that. A dep V and a cute necklace (even get a crew neck t-shirt and cut the neck to a v - the edge will roll attractively - and wear a kicky necklace.

Thanks for the tips. And no need for the grimace, I've been reading here for a long time so I knew I would get people's honest opinion's. And that's why I posted!

And it's weird how things come through in photos - I am less comfortable in that top than in the dress. I want to care less if my top is clinging to my tummy, and maybe this is a shirt to practice with since I like it so much? I dunno...I'm gonna think about it over the weekend.

I love the dress and cardigan. It's totally something I would buy and wear, if I wore black. *wonders where one gets Macy's coupons*

But I'm not so sure about the top. I, personally, wouldn't wear it. But I'm super sensitive about my tummy poking out. I know I'm sort of going against the flow here, but I say, return the top and get something else. If you're not totally comfortable in it, it will hang unworn in your closet. Maybe a shaper might help, but then, who wants to wear a shaper with a casual knit top. I've tried the pulling up the skirt a bit trick in the past, and while it works at the start of the day, with one thing and other, bending, moving, etc. the skirt always manages to find its way back to my real waist. It's a cute top, but.... I hope this wasn't too honest.

I get my Macy's coupons in the mail because I have a credit card with them. I mostly have a CC just to get the coupons! But we get the newspaper where I work and probably once a week or once every other week there's one in the newspaper, too.

And I would SO hate for such a cute top to sit neglected in my closet!
