Thrifting tips

I used to thrift shop a lot as a teenager, esp. when I had fat friends to go with. I got out of the habit and I feel so impatient when I go into a thrift store that has no organization by size. I had good luck on and off with the Savers that was near me (it has sadly since closed down). Sometimes they're be a ton of great stuff in the plus areas, sometimes it was horribly barren. I think it depends on the individual store as well.

The nice thing about Savers, at least the one I went to, is that the sizes were pretty well organized and marked.

The Savers here in Orlando is pretty great and they do organize things by size, so I like that. The most disappointing thing is combing through a bunch of really great dresses and then pulling them all out to see that they are a size 4. Good luck!

98% of my wardrobe is from thrift stores. you just have to be vigilant if you want to find anything. as for the buffalo exchange it's hit or miss. i used to work at our local buff for awhile and i was constantly bringing in plus size b/c i felt like it was important. however, hardly any plus sized sellers ever came in. so the plus size section was basically my old closet. still check it out you never know.

I remember Buffalo Exchange in Tucson to be pretty minimal on the plus sizes.

However, Arizona has Twice as Nice, and that is the best thrift store chain ever!

Weirdly, when googling Buffalo Exchange in AZ, there was something about the one in Tuscon opening a plus size store, but then I couldn't find real concrete info about it.
I've never heard of Twice as Nice, thanks for the tip!
