so, there is this forum that has at least one member subscribed to our community. and they have taken ...an interest in mocking us, stealing our photos, and just generally being assholes towards this community.

i'm not one to put things behind friends-only posts in communities, but this has really gotten me to think twice about it. and that makes me ( Read more... )

I'm trying to resist the urge to look at the link. It sounds incredibly triggering, and my hard-won self-love is probably not quite up for it. It sounds like the sort of thing we should probably leave alone.

yeah, that's my feeling, too. i didn't want to go tapping the ugly troll on its ugly shoulder, and say "psst, you are hurting my feelings", but i was curious what other people's reactions to this whole thing were.

you're right about the triggering factor. i will edit my post to mention that.

I'm just so very, very angry about this.

This community is a safe-haven for me, to talk about my body in a positive way. I feel totally violated by these jerks.

As usual, I am amazed by the fat-positivity in this community. I was so angry and felt so violated. And then I started reading some of your reactions to this and, once again, I feel empowered and not ashamed.

we're fatbulous and some people cant take into account that we're happy. it sucks that people try to drain every emotion out of someone. that whole thread reminds me of walking down the hallway in middle school. people who stoop that low sometimes are just not people who look in the mirror and like what they see. atleast thats my take on items such as this.
