Cissie took the phone and curled up against the headboard of her bed. Tim had suggested she call Roy, but she wasn't really sure what to say--hi, it turns out I'm sort of your sister? She dialed Roy's number before she could change her mind, again. When he answered, she took a deep breath and said, "Hi Roy--it's Cissie."
First ring, don't scare her. Second Ring, don't freak her out, Third ring, don't keep her waiting. "Hey, little Arrowette." he greeted her gently. "Guess you need to talk?" he took a seat on his front porch, comfortably.
She smiled a little, dragging a throw blanket over her knees so she could play with the edge while she talked. "Maybe," she conceded. "Although one of these days I'll call just because."
"I'm glad he's changed--for you and Lian, I mean. Though I'm not sure we should give my mom so much credit," she muttered dryly. She shrugged, though he couldn't see it. "Young Justice was fun--not always, obviously, but... Anyway." She shook her head, frowning. "Home alone, for three months? How old were you?"
"Your mom's a smart lady." Roy said gently. "And thanks, I'm glad too. And... I was about your age, maybe a bit younger." Roy said, shrugging. "Doesn't matter, really."
Cissie gave a non-committal hum. She wasn't entirely sure that it didn't matter, but she was willing to let it go for now. She also wasn't completely sure she agreed with him about her mother--but then, Bonnie King-Jones was sitting only slightly higher than Stephanie Brown in Cissie's opinion these days. Which was saying something. "Would you tell me... more about--the rest of your family?"
"Sure." Roy said, "There's Connor, he's older than you are. He's really quiet, really smart, very zen and vegetarian. He'll love you. There's Mia... Speedy. She's a sweetie, smart as a whip and a good shot to boot... I'm adding Dinah in, because, well, she's like my mom, or as close to a mom as I've ever had, even if I think she and Ollie aren't together anymore. I haven't asked."
"I think that's all of us, if you keep the Lanterns out of it."
