Just because someone is polyamorous doesn't mean they're sluts or are sleeping around. Having long-term relationships with more than one person doesn't immediately mean you are having unsafe sex and spreading STDs. I think that is a very, very unfair characterization you're making.
No, it isn't unfair. It is true.Young people need to be told the scary truth about what is out there and the polyamorous (means sleeping with more than one I assume) had better be very careful because 1 in 5 twenty-somethings has genital herpes and AIDS may not be in the news so much lately but it is still there. Condoms can break so there really isn't "safe" sex. Find one guy you love and stick to him. I know that sounds boring but boring is better than herpes. I'm not being mean. I'd rather every kid out there be pissed at me than for one of them to catch something that would ruin her life.
Polyamory means loving more than one person. If it's sexual is up to you, as it is in a regular relationship as well. And, as in a monogamous relationship, you should take care while having sex- use condoms, don't sleep around.

It is hard to believe you aren't joking! If believing in monogamy is being backward then I guess that's my ass that has been obstructing my view of my feet all these years instead of a big belly. I can't imagine someone I am supposed to be in love with, who is supposed to be in love with me, being ok with me having ANOTHER lover. (However, I know how men are and I am sure most of them would be fine with their girlfriends having female lovers if the female lovers were pretty and feminine and the men are allowed to "watch".) Can you imagine, though, if your man had HIMSELF a man... or another woman? TOO EFFING STRANGE!! We might as well go join one of those polygamous sects and sew ourselves some baggy dresses and put our hair up in those big poofs. The longer I ponder it, however, the more I like the notion of an all man harem at my beck and call.
