Rules
Also known as "that stuff that sounds menacing."

1. Please ask questions, even if you think they sound dumb. Chances are they probably aren't.

2. Beware of godmoding. Godmoding ranges from something as simple as saying that you punched someone and knocked them down to suddenly having gathered more shards than anyone else without development. It also includes never taking a hit. Please be realistic with your characters and honestly consider their abilities. Good players will also take their hits when appropriate.

We strongly urge communication between the players to help prevent godmoding. Assume that the other player would prefer to be notified of what's going on before going ahead and doing it. Additionally, avoid using information you know from ooc in your ic interactions. Your character cannot magically know a character's past, present, or future.

3. In-character actions/choices have in-character consequences. If your character chooses to start telling the npcs that he or she is actually from another world, likely they will think he or she is insane. If the character chooses to attack npcs with their powers, you can expect npc police or even other player characters to come attempt to take him or her down.

4. Things within the community should be kept to a PG-13 rating. If you must do something at an R level, please place it behind the cut with a warning. We would prefer if you would refrain from anything higher than R.

5. The minimum posting requirement is at least two posts a month. This can be a journal post and one log of 10 or more comments, two journal posts, or two logs. Posting helps keep the game moving, though, so we always encourage more!

6. If you are needing to go on hiatus, please post to the hiatus post about how long you'll be gone and post a note to the ooc community. It helps keep sanity. :) We like sanity.

7. Please give 24 hour notice before major events in-game, as this gives players the opportunity to plan a bit if they want to participate. Also please run these events past a mod first. We're very open to plotting, but we want to help events from getting too entangled with others or with the main plot so that things don't end up in a big, jumbled mess. :)

8. Invariably there will at some point be some kind of ooc conflict between players. We ask that you attempt to solve player conflict between one another first. If you have done this, however, and the problem remains, poke the mods.

9. If you're having ic issues and need some help, feel free to either poke at the ooc community and let your fellow players help you! You can also poke at the mods if that's more comfortable/preferable. :)

10. Please mind the fourth wall. Not everyone wants it rammed down, so please treat it on a case-by-case basis.

11. Heterosexual or homosexual pairings are fine -- though development is always encouraged and appreciated.

12. Tag character entries in the main community with the character's full name. It helps with organization.

13. Not so much a rule as a request: Please consider the language that you use, particularly when ooc. Calling something "gay" or "retarded" when you mean "stupid" or referring to someone as a "fag" may disturb some players or cause them discomfort. We would like to make this a community where everyone is able to feel comfortable.
