Hah! Abed and Troy really are the ultimate fanboys.
Not that she cares about Jeff and Britta, as there is always going to be a Jeff and Britta, but there is something to be said about being acknowledged and really, really all she wants is that kind of honesty.
I think that's what's saved Jeff for me, and made him shippable with Annie, is that he has those moments with her that we barely ever see with anyone else and it makes all his snark and douchery bearable and even forgiveable.
But she knows his weird moments of caring, just like Abed and Troy and Britta and Pierce and - well, she loves Shirley still even though ( ... )

Oh, Abed. He's rather good at getting to the crux of things, isn't he? Awesome story. You captured some of the difficulties I think everyone has with their moms and you didn't make it farcical, but real and honest. Absolutely wonderful.

and I love the line at the end about how they split a coffee without thinking, just perfect... it was all perfect.
