I see you lurking, 0penhearts. I can't even hide from you on tumblr, as many times as I try to sign off and be productive. Anyways this has been sitting on my desktop for a week now and I figure I should probably post it before tomorrow and all, if only to feel like my soul has been sucked dry by research - too many weird encounters with the internet in the ( Read more... )

SO I WAS JUST THINKING HOW I NEEDED TO GET BACK TO HARRASSING YOU AFTER MY VACATION. I LOVE THAT YOUR NATURAL INCLINATION TO POST THIS MATCHED UP SO SEAMLESSLY WITH MY NATURAL INCLINATION TO ORDER YOU TO DO THINGS. HOW CONVENIENT FOR MEEEEEE!

“I know that you two end up going late into the night with your marathons of shows that have been canceled and forgotten.”

Not that she cares about Jeff and Britta, as there is always going to be a Jeff and Britta, but there is something to be said about being acknowledged and really, really all she wants is that kind of honesty.
I think that's what's saved Jeff for me, and made him shippable with Annie, is that he has those moments with her that we barely ever see with anyone else and it makes all his snark and douchery bearable and even forgiveable.

But she knows his weird moments of caring, just like Abed and Troy and Britta and Pierce and - well, she loves Shirley still even though ( ... )

Her mother tells her this:

“You need new friends.”

Abed tells her this:

“You need a new mother.”

Oh, Abed. He's rather good at getting to the crux of things, isn't he? Awesome story. You captured some of the difficulties I think everyone has with their moms and you didn't make it farcical, but real and honest. Absolutely wonderful.
