hell is other people. slight spoilers for across the sea.
notes: At this point, you should know that I can pretty much be talked into anything? Especially when
falseeeyelashes dangles it in front of me when I’m otherwise delirious and supposed to be working? Haha. This is for you, bb. ILU.

I never thought I wanted to read about charlotte/jacob. obviously you have proved me wrong. my favourite bit is: It takes a few days, if they’re really days.
“I’m dead. I’m dead,” she says out loud. It’s like practice.

This is absolutely phenomenal! There's something I really love about Charlotte/Jacob without ever having much cared for Jacob on his own, and this totally elevates the pairing to a whole new, awesome high. It's just dripping with resignation and bitterness and frustration, and I love the interplay between the two of them -- that Charlotte's still coming to terms, that Jacob sort of lets her come to the answers instead of revealing them. It makes for an incredible sense of atmosphere.
And Charlotte! I don't think I've read a more perfect interpretation of her POV in ages -- the mingled sense of before and what she's dealing with in the present, the echoes of her family, of Daniel ... just chilling and heart-breaking and a million other things. So, so fantastic.
