when you’re stranger there are no musical numbers in a roman holiday - by now, it’s about trying to remember how to forgot her lines. gossip girl. blair/dan. season two spoiler; future college au-ish thing. 3,544 words, pg.
So yes- you writing Blair/Dan is wonderful. They are wonderful and very true to themselves- of course Blair has seen Roman Holiday too many times. And of course She would expect him to know her better than that because truthfully? He does. He does and that't the part that makes no sense to him.
They’re not friends.- oh, heaven forbid,Blair Waldorf! Of course they're not friends.( Because we know they are so much more- ha!)
I really love the subtle contrast between Blair and Serena- it's not overplayed but it's not ignored either and I think that's important. Anyway- I adore this.
Thank you for this- and apologies for the ranting. It's brilliant.
this is definitely brilliant! i love how simple you kept it on the outside, but yet it feels so much more deeper. and the ending, "In the cab home, she keeps his number in her hand." totally put a smile on my face :)
Though in some situations things may have not been explicitly said/expressed however, as the reader you get the vibe that something new, fresh and exciting was developing between Dan and Blair. I think this may be a prelude to many wonderful things.
This fic was interesting to read and imho there was an aura of suspense and nervousness as I read each paragraph not knowing what to expect yet leaving me curious to delve in further.
And the final line sealed things perfectly In the cab home, she keeps his number in her hand.
This fic is amazing. I love that you take the time to really dissect Blair's thoughts, and that the pace is slow because of course they'd be awkward with each other. That last part with Dan's number is just love.
