You always write the characters so beautifully. I love that nothing really happens in this, except that it does, because she kissed his cheek and he won her a prize and he loves her.

My favorite line: It disappears into her pocket and do you need a ride? stumbles out of his mouth before he can attempt any control. I love the way it 'stumbles out' without control -- that's a great way to say it was a bit of a blurt, and that just really rang true for me how Toby would speak in this situation, saying those words.

Really, really nice job with this. It's lovely.
