i love this country. i really do. but i'm totally amazed at how things have turned out. last week i was cautiously optimistic, hoping that high voter turn out and bush's 49% approval rating would be his doom yesterday. and like i've said all along, this isn't about a democrat vs. republican argument (i'm independent/moderate). i look back at ( Read more... )

I benefit from GWB's tax policies on many levels. I probably will not need to depend on Social Security for retirement. I hopefully will not have to depend on Medicare for medical expenses. I will most likely will be in the group of "rich getting richer" rather than the "poor getting poorer." I think there's very little chance I will be shipped out in flying or sailing coffins and come back in a real coffin. And if push comes to shove, I can always take up my other nationality.

I voted for Kerry, but hey, if the rednecks, hicks, bigots and racists care more about other things than the ones listed above, who am I to worry for them?

You just watch. America is turning into the next Germany. And that, more so that any attacks or wars, is what I'm deathly afraid of.

dwander, my sentiments EXACTLY. his use of christianity (blasphemous in my opinion) is ringing true the muslim accusations of this being a "holy war"...and while we're not quite on the road to nazism, our path is definitely in the direction of mass hysteria and paranoia. thanks for commenting...
