I start a new job on Monday. No more 65 minute drive to work yay!!! Pretty decent drop in wages not so yay...but worth it for the twenty minute drive time and nine day fortnight, so more time at home, and frankly still a good wage. I have been on casual rates for five months, so my wage was going to drop once I went permenant anyway. After a work

I'm rather relieved myself!! I remember you mentioning the long drives and it worried me...a lot!! So glad you have the shorter commute - and it will pay off in the long run!! Whoot!!

It is a relief not to have that drive any more...the RDO every second week, not to mention being permanent, was a big incentive to take the drop in pay too. Hubby and I will still be bringing in plenty to pay the bills and have some spare cash. Now that things have settled and we're more stable again, its time to hopefully put the more important things first, like actually enjoying life a bit more...though hubby is still being asked to do too many shifts, but I'm optimistic that will sort itself out over the next couple of months.
