I love this...so very, very much!! A glimpse at the Doctor and his failing/failed memory through the eyes of a young boy he loved so much, all boys became him. Thank you for this, sweetie. I had missed your delectable words and superior images.

*hugs you close*

This was simply superb. Your writing is always so stunning, every word perfectly falling together into something that is something between simple and complex, a perfect balance of sheer beauty. It just leaves me in awe. The insight on the Doctor, Barnable's gaze on him, full of familiar awareness, respect and awe and affection, the stars, the ancient ache and loss, the remembering and the forgetting, the Doctor belonging somewhere so distant and wonderful, yet always staying to protect Christmas-it was all flawlessly handled. Your portrayal of the TARDIS too-and age weighing heavy on Barnable, too, his life so short compared to the span of the Doctor's, and the symbolism that he knew him as a child and now sits by him as an old man… And the ending was just wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing this. It's simply amazing.
