For months now, I haven't been able to watch any Who clips/vids without feeling like crying. A whole heap of emotions in the lead up to the 50th with the added knowledge of fall of the Eleventh actually coming and everything Who kind of hurts, though

The Doctor can't simply be a man who joyfully wants to go out into the universe to experience the wonder of it.
Nowadays he has to be "running" from all the bad things, all the "blood on his hands."
He doesn't go forward in hope and joy, he goes forward "because he daren't look back."
And, to me, that's a crying shame. It's a loss of innocence at a time when the world desperately needs innocence.
Wonder has been replaced by tragedy. Shame has replaced self-worth. A man who used to be described as someone "with the best life ever" now has a life that he himself cannot even look at.
"I weep for my people," as Churchill said. When innocence and wonder are considered lesser things than trajedy and self-loathing.
When "While there's life there's hope" is replaced by "Everything dies."
