Oh! That ending has me all happy and warm inside. I love that Dean got some of Cas' memories, and that twist at the end (is it a twist? I dont know) where he knew Cas was up to something. I can easily imagine this actually happening in the show. You wrote the characters IN character, which is so rare in amnesia fics but you did it! I had so much fun reading this, I really enjoyed the heck out of it.

Thanks so much. I'm always worried about keeping the characters in character, so I'm glad Dean felt like he was still Dean despite the amnesia. I had fun tweaking Doc a little as he wasn't actually real, but came from Dean's forgotten memories and impressions of him. I had fun with the couple of memories Doc shared with Dean too, mixing in as much Dean as Cas in them.

Lol yeah I was hinting at the end that Dean had seen Cas' purgatory plan in his memories and was going to find a way to help his friend, to win the war together rather than Cas fighting it all on his own. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

wonderful! I too find amnesia more of a horror than anything else, but this is pretty mellow on that scale. Cas' feared demon attack failed to materialize, the angelic bad guys having written him off, and its just Dean & Cas. The ending is wonderful, very hopeful.

This was an amazing take on amnesia. I love how you portrayed the strength of the bond between Dean and Cas. It was also neat how you showed Castiel's perspective on things, and how differently he remembered things.

I'm happy the way Cas remembered things worked, it is so hard to portray his alieness, he is so unknowable in many ways. I'm glad you enjoyed reading.

Enjoyed this a lot. Loved that Cas wasn't really there, at first I just thought the others couldn't see him, only Dean...took me a while to catch on! :)

Some great lines...I totally second the praise for 'sugary sweet coating with chewy drug centre...' loved that line!

Loved the glimpses of the way Cas and Dean feel about each other, buried under all that duty and obligation and whatnot.

A thoroughly enjoyable read! :)

Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun writing the bond between Dean and Cas even though Dean didn't remember, it was an interesting way of exploring it.

Nifty pieces in here, such as Dean's conjuring of Dr. Novak and that breakthrough moment, and Dean finally grasping some of what Castiel's journey has been like for him.
