Thanks for the review. I enjoy a good manga, even though I'm not in a position to shell out for many these days (a minor problem with pursuing higher education)
About your digression, I agree that many of the American "Manga" aren't in terms of style. However I have seen those that do truly fall into the genre. Some are from the TokyoPop publishing house. I've noticed that the styles out of China (Chinese Manga) have a distinctive flavor from the Japanese, as do the Korean, Taiwanese, and so forth. Some are subtle, others are much bolder. It isn't until you get to the American style that there is a truly glaring and very noticeable difference to the unversed eye. There are even mangas out of Europe that are quite interesting, but they also fall into their own category. In the end all I can truly say is that these styles are not comics as the West knows them. *grin* hmm now I've gone on with my own digression! oops!
