Discussion Question: Eating and Reading

Do you eat while reading?

I do. All the time.  In fact, my habit of noshing while turning pages could easily explain how I gained all that extra weight in the past year. 
It's food that does me in.  Descriptions of food.  If the author describes how her character ate a rich chocolate cake with strawberries on top, I have to go find some M&Ms or some

lol... I eat while reading, but I do so because I can't stand to just sit and physically do nothing, so eating gives me something to do. I try to eat lighter or healthier... or at least something that'll slow me down, like sunflouwer seeds. Whatever the food item, I do it to stay alert and pay attention to what I'm reading. :-)

I used to go to the local grocery store, pick up an assortment of sweets from the bakery, then come home and arrange them on my best china and curl up for the afternoon with the treats and a stack of books. I used to call them 'me' times. *sighs wistfully* I miss those... I do still nibble whilst I read nowadays, but not with the same ceremony about it.

I don't eat when I read. My favorite reading position is cuddled into my pillows in bed. Not a very conducive place for eating anything.

However, I do read when I eat alone. I usually grab an old magazine or newspaper (or even fish/meat wrapper, as long as there are words to be read) and skim through the reading material while I eat my meal.

I have to admit that reading in bed doesn't stop me from eating. I just try to avoid crumbly foods if I do that.

Yep... i'm a total bookworm! i'll read anywhere & everywhere... my mom was the same way, we'd both have our books at the dinner table.

I sometimes snack while I'm reading, but usually I read laying down on my bed, so it's a bit difficult.

I also remember a time when I brought the book I was currently reading, to a family dinner out at a restaurant.
