My mother was a devotee of Emily Post. I grew up hearing about things that 'just weren't done' because it was bad form.

In some ways, I think it's a damn shame we don't use better manners in more situations these days...

The word 'etiquette' brings up over 100K books on Amazon.com, so people are still writing about it. It does seem a pity that more people don't put what they read into action, but I'm the first to admit that I take the graceless course of action often enough!
