I was searching online for the Coraline Mystery Boxes and I came across this on Ebay. I guess it was just a matter of time before pieces from the Coraline Boxes showed up on Ebay. Do you think it's a fake? (The seller says it's from box #31.)

I sent Neil Gaiman an email via his website. (I'm sure he'll never see it.)

I wouldn't be surprised if it's real; the key certainly looks like mine. :-p I'm tempted to bid on it, because the Other Mother's just that cool, but I think it's lame that they're splitting up the doll from the box.

It's really a pity though, that whoever received that box never bothered to share it with the world before breaking it up. Any box that contained such a neat doll must have been awesome :(

Neil is surprisingly responsive to his emails. Watch his blog and see if a link to the auction, or a commentary on it, doesn't appear in a day or two.

Thanks for pointing the auction out!
As you said, it's unfortunately inevitable that these things end up on eBay. I was thinking of auctioning mine off for charity closer to the movie release, but decided that it would probably be against the intent of these cool art pieces to make money off them.

It really makes me sad because I would love to have one of those boxes. It's a shame.
