I haven't read the book but I heard it's good and I want to read it but I haven't found a copy yet.

Hmm, from your review of Eclipse I didn't know this was a vampire series, now I might end up reading it after all!

If you like vampire books, have you read Daylight by Elizabeth Knox? I highly recommend it!

And yeah, I can't believe I didn't mention the vampire-ness of Eclipse, but when I was writing that it seemed like everyone was talking up the series so I probably just assumed it didn't need to be said. My bad!

Ooooh. Elizabeth Knox wrote a vampire book? Have you read her Dreamhunter Duet? Those books are in my Top Ten of 2007--they are some of the smartest, best noncliche fantasy I have ever read. I am so impressed with her writing.

Thanks for the links, a friend of mine is leading a book discussion at the high school she worked at (the kids chose the book, not her) and I've sent them to her. She's planning on having the kids read about the abusive nature of the book to help them analyze the book a bit more. Here's hoping it works!

Good review :) You pretty much summed up all of my feelings in a way that I couldn't put words to.

Since the beginning of the second book I have enjoyed the way that Meyers has portrayed Jacob - he has grown up and become his own character in a way that is dynamic and engaging. I think that he might be the best character in the series.

This one turned me off the series, because of the overwhelming angst and the fact the big plot twist was the werewolves. Yeah, I figured that out back in TWILIGHT. Not much suspense.
