The suspected son of George Boleyn is also named George Boleyn. The other suspicion is that this person could have been a distant cousin. No one really knows. Homosexual behaviour back then was not uncommon.

True on both counts, and that's the frustrating thing: in the book, she didn't say when something wasn't known for sure - she'd just mention it like it was a fact everyone agreed on.

Apparently, there are two potential sons - in addition to George Boleyn, Dean of Lichfield (the one mentioned in Elizabeth's Women) there's also a "Thomas Bullen" mentioned on a tombstone at Clonony Castle (http://www.thestandingstone.ie/2009/10/clonony-castle-co-offaly.html) that claims to be a son of George.
