I agree that she is an unlikable character. I don't know if I would have made it past the first few chapters if I hadn't previously read 'The White Queen'. Ultimately though, I enjoyed the book. It was really interesting to see the story from another point of view. I do think I liked 'The White Queen' better though.

I'm really curious about the last book in the trilogy, The White Princess. Will it cover many of the same events *again* or will it pick up at the end of the first two books? If it does begin with the Battle of Botsworth, I think The Red Queen will have served well as a "bridge" between the first and last book in the trilogy. If it's yet another re-hash of the same events, though, I'll be disappointed.

Me too, I really hope it continues the story. I think it will. I think she did a little something like that with the Tudor series. I don't know that there was a complete rehashing, but there were books that overlapped. I definitely hope it is a continuation though, I don't want to read the same story from another POV again :-)

She was definitely unlikeable, but for some reason that didn't stop me from really enjoyed this novel. Usually I have to like, or at least feel some sympathy for, the main character in a book to like it but that wasn't the case here.
