You can't see right now, but I'm currently typing this whilst sitting at my desk.  In my desk chair.  This shouldn't be a big deal, but since both things have been covered in papers and clothes and other crap for the past couple of months, it is.  I realized I hadn't done much but watch Life on Mars* for the past couple of days and thought I could ( Read more... )

We just got the first disk of Life On Mars in from Netflix yesterday! We'll probably start in on it in the next day or so.

Nothing motivates the simplification process better than moving. It is amazing what becomes nonessential when the option is to pack it and move it.

Are you trying to save room for cold weather gear for the class or just clearing out?

Weird coincidence! I'm really really liking it. Did ya'll get the BBC or the US version? I'd seen a couple episodes of the US one and wanted to see them all, but started with the BBC since it was the original.

I'm going to pack for warm and cold weather with things I can layer up. I love coats and jackets but I think I'm just taking my warm pea-coat and leaving the rest that I'll use again. It's mostly just all of the t-shirts I've accumulated and just don't need.

We've got the BBC one and will probable get the US one after we're done to compare. We've been on a BBC kick lately - we've gotten Primeval, Edge of Darkness, and Spaced that I can think of right off.

Good luck on the packing! Packing to layer is a good idea and you can always buy more (or have someone ship you some) if you need to.

I've meant to watch "Spaced". It has Simon Pegg in it right? "Sherlock" is going to air on PBS in October, ya'll should check that out.

I'm definitely packing light when it comes to toiletries. It'll be more fun to take the mini-bottles of shampoo and tiny toothpaste tube to start and then buy what I think is probably toothpaste once I'm settled in. ;)

BBC Life on Mars is amazing. And strangely enough always makes me want to listen to the Scissor Sisters as well.

Hee, I'm on quite the British kick lately. (Although the Scissor Sisters are American, just got popular in the UK.)

I'm really loving the show, it's so cool. I love the music and the clothes and John!Simm!

Understood - SS just seem British somehow. "Almost Sorry" reminds me of LoM, probably only because I seemed to be obsessed with both at the same time.

It's sooo good. Have you finished the entire series yet? And John!Simm! eeee. <3 He's so adorable in that.

I haven't finished it, I just started the second season. I'm avoiding all fan-sites or anything else that might spoil What The Hell Is Going On. Simm is so adorable/sexy, I really like him. I love the "guv" too.
