Announcement time: I did not get into grad-school. And I'm pretty okay with it. Mostly just happy to know for sure on all fronts finally. In hindsight I probably should have been more proactive with visiting schools, e-mailing advisers, etc. But I think that just shows my heart wasn't in it 100%. Am now looking into getting a TEFL

I have some friends who have taught abroad and they all have good advice about how to go about it, so I'm getting excited. :)

I'm having fun looking into programs, I'm just worried about going with the wrong one and getting scammed or something. I have some friends who have done it and they've got good advice though.

Different places seem to offer different options. There's total online courses, which I don't think I'd have the discipline to do and they don't seem to get a lot of positive reviews either. There's one in San Antonio (where my sister lives) that covers four weekends. They also help you with job placement once you've finished it. And some people say that no employer will take you seriously unless you've taken months of teaching courses. Then again, lots of Asian countries just require that you're a native English speaker. *shrugs* I'm going to be doing lots of research and question asking it looks like. ;)
