Argh!!!

I'm a pretty happy and laid back person.  There are few things that make me really angry or that I truly hate.  PT Cruisers, John Mayer, and Gilmore Girls are on that list.  So are people who throw their fast-food trash into the back of a truck bed.  My truck bed.  In seven years it's only happened three times, but that's three times too many.  ( Read more... )

"I'm from the Metroplex."But...it's a HUGE place now. And maybe the divisions don't mean much outside of it, but inside, where you from--where you SAY you're from--says a lot about you. The popped collar bitches are from University and Highland Park. Fair Park used to be the Jewish neighborhood. Now it's primarily African American. I'm from Dallas, but most of my friends had different zip codes. I've also lived in Richardson, which is the most down-to-earth of the suburbs. Lots of Mexican and Korean immigrants. New Money and Established Professionals live in Plano. Yuppies live in Uptown and Addison. Then you've got your Mesquite, Rockwall, Las Colinas, Arlington, and Farmer's Branch. Which are technically their own cities, but also part of the Metroplex ( ... )

IknowIknowIknowIknowIknow. I apologize, and I've since calmed down.

I have tons of friends and some family from several of the areas you mentioned, and realize the differences. It's just that this is a small, private university that costs some money, (I sure as hell wouldn't have gone here if my dad wasn't a professor). It's gotten easy to write off the super entitled rich kids who act like you should immediately know the difference between Plano and Rockwall. And care. Being from the largest town (that's not all that large) for hours around makes it hard to keep all that close-together-ness over there straight. But I do have lots of friends who aren't overtly entitled, and I do love parts of the Metroplex. It was just the first blame my rage went to.

And yes, John Mayer can get hit by a bus.

No worries. There are a lot of asshats everywhere. As Hank says, "Dallas is full of debutantes and cokeheads. And half of them play for the Cowboys."

Ah, Hank is wise. My roommate is slowly coming to appreciate King of the Hill.

And there are too many asshats among us.

I've calmed down. Karma will cut their face for me.

Oh yeah, I think GG is a despicable representation of girls my age (or at the time at least). Rory is a terrible, whiny, useless person. The hummingbird-fast talking full of wit and pop-culture references makes me want to throw a brick through the television. And it's sad because I'd love to watch some Baby Jared y'know?
