[1ST] sting - memories hold a certain degree of immortality

Jul 02, 2011 09:34

[The woman with the scorpion tail -- who's already made a bit of a nuisance of herself in this place -- has figured out where she lives, but has decided that she has no desire to actually be there yet. She's instead found the lake and has taken to spending a lot of time there. It's no private beach, but it's better than nothing ( Read more... )

[Lavi's wandering by when he sees her. He figures he shouldn't get too close with that tail of hers, but he's too curious about her (and her physiology - and not in a dirty way) for his own good.]

How's the water~?

It's not the ocean, but I've suffered worse.

[She frowns over er shoulder at him, her tail flitting back and forth. She doesn't exactly seem pleased to be talking with him.]

I should have figured humans would be by eventually to ruin it for me.

[He's a tad offended.]

It's not like I'm gonna blow it up or anything. 'sides, humans already sorta ruined it. [He points to the mast sticking up from the center of the lake.] That can't've been good for the ecosystem. Though I imagine the creatures have adapted to it by now.

Humans seem to have quite a habit of ruining everything they touch.

[She doesn't seem to care at all if she's offended him.]

That is just another example of why humans should just stay in their filthy holes and leave the surface to those of us who deserve it.

Who puts a ship on a lake anyway? That's stupid.

[A shadowy figure suddenly appear from behind Adiane, though it seems to make no attempt to move from it's place or anything.

Oh, it's just Junior.]

[For a moment, she's legitimately startled, and that almost triggers her fight/flight response (which is always set to 'fight'. But once she realizes it's him she just smiles a bit.]

You shouldn't sneak up on me like that.. I might accidentally hurt you.

That's okay. [He could technically fight back anyways.]

What are you doing?

[She doesn't want to fight him, or hurt him at all. That would lead to secretly crippling guilt.]

Just thinking. Maybe feeling a little homesick, even though nothing good is waiting for me there.

Did you need something from me?

[Sasha doesn't mind Adiane's presence any more than giving her plenty of clearance, as he approaches the shore of the lake to fill up buckets and wash the sweat off his face. He turns and almost leaves, but hesitates for a second and decides to stay for a while.

The lake kind of reminds him of the one at St. Mikailov. He wonders how he could be feeling a tinge of homesickness from being away from a place he only stayed at for a short time.]

[She's tense all together at his presence. She's not obvious about it, but she's keeping an eye on him. She's trying her best not to cause trouble since she already has one enemy here and she doesn't need more than one ganging up on her.

But anyone who knows anything about body language would probably be able to pick up on her displeasure, especially with the way her tail is swinging back and forth.]

[He feels her gaze on him, and in response, he stares back--not aggressively, but assertively standing his ground, even when she's easily twice as tall as he is and sporting a meaty scorpion tail. He wonders why she looks so irritable, especially ankle-deep in this calm lake.

Then his eyes drift down to her breast level, not even putting the slightest effort into hiding the fact that he's "stealing a glance".]

[He posture is very aggressive, but even so she remains fairly calm, even when she knows she's being watched. But when his gaze settles on her chest, her posture straightens and she becomes much more noticeably agitated.

She twists herself a bit, as if trying to pull her chest out of his line of sight, her tail swinging angrily back and forth, lashing once at the water before wrapping around her legs.]

[At first, it's a low hum, but then becomes a loud roar as suddenly there is a car skidding across the lake at ridiculous speeds.

Cars aren't supposed to do that.]

[What. The fuck. Is that.

Thank god she has good reflexes, because she is out of the way of that in seconds and STILL only narrowly avoids getting hit.]

[The car skids to a halt and the tail-end crashes into a tree, shattering at the base and felling it in the direction opposite Adiane. Cougar flies out of the roof of the bright pink car.]

MAGNIFICENT! EXTRAORDINARY!

[Cougar lands about ten feet from the car as the car just sort of falls apart behind him.]
