What bothers me about your "reframing" is that it counts Palestinians as robots following a simple script, with Israelis being the only moral agents. Now of course, if Palestinians were robots, little would their "lives" matter. But no, they are not. They have beliefs and goals, that they choose to a large extent. And a story is one-sided that counts these beliefs and goals for nothing, or tries to escape the fact that jew-hating is the only openly allowed ideology amongst Palestinians under penalty of death. Palestinians are not "just like jews, just with a different name for God". They have different culturally-transmitted values.
