Not for Sale - Part 1

Mar 26, 2021 23:52

Nino was bored. He had just finished a game that he spent years… okay, that's an exaggeration… hours of playing since last night. Now that he had completed the game, it felt like he had lost his life purpose.

Hahaha… he laughed. If Jun heard his thought right now, he knew what his roommate would say. Jun would undoubtedly roll his eyes and then call him drama king.

Putting the thought about Jun away, Nino took his laptop, remembering that he had to do some online shopping. As someone who wasn’t fond of going out, he usually bought stuff from the comfort of his bed. Just by pressing a letter on the browser, the link for his favourite website to do online shopping already appeared, proving that he indeed spent too much time on it. And, once the browser brought him to the website he was looking for, he immediately clicked on the section for games.

He wanted to buy nothing there. The website wasn’t what he used to buy his game collection, preferring to purchase them directly from the official website. Still, he liked to browse through it, looking for any interesting offers. And, if he ever decided to let go of his collection, he would know how much he could sell them. This was his routine each time he visited the website. Once he was satisfied, he would head to the other sections to buy his necessities.

As he lazily browsed the website, a picture caught his attention. He blinked a few times, making sure that his eyes weren’t playing a trick on him. The image didn’t change no matter what he did, proving that what he saw was indeed true. It was a picture of him wearing a coat, the one that he used for his resume. How did this picture get to be on the website? And why was he listed as an item?

Curious, Nino clicked on the item. Once he clicked on it, he was directed to a page with the following tagline:

A Cute but Annoying Nino (only 1 piece available)

There was a video playing below the tagline. And, his eyes widened, knowing where the video came from. It was what he recorded for his birthday party last year. A video where he recited all his good qualities. Damn! Where did they get this video?

Below the video, a few pictures of him were posted. And, man, those were pictures of him with hideous expressions. His eyes wandered to the box beside the video where the seller put all the details about the item. His nostrils started to flare when he noticed the price. 20000 yen? How dare someone put a price on him! That’s way too cheap!

Who was it? Who dared to humiliate him like this? He would make sure the mastermind behind this scheme would be punished!

Nino scrolled down, looking for information about the seller. The picture was the first thing he noticed about the jerk. It was someone he knew so he didn’t have to check the username. Not bothering to hide his anger this time, Nino screamed at the top of his lungs.

“JUNNYYYYYYY!”

From outside of his room, he could hear someone laughing loudly. Damn! Jun will pay for this!

Without wasting any seconds, Nino dashed out of his room and found Jun in the living hall, watching the television with their roommate, Aiba. While Aiba cast a confused look in his direction, Jun continued watching the television, still laughing.

“Why are you shouting, Nino? I don’t want to hear any complaints from our neighbour, you know,” rebuked Aiba, pausing the show that they were watching. Nino ignored the man. He directed his gaze at Jun, glaring.

And, you, Matsujun…” Aiba had his attention on Jun this time. “Why are you laughing? This isn’t a funny scene,” muttered Aiba. Nino secretly glanced at the television, curious to know what they were watching as he saw tears on Aiba’s face. It was WandaVision. “Wanda would have to say goodbye to Vision and their sons. Aren’t you sad? Wanda has lost everything that she loves,”

“He wasn’t laughing because of what happened to Wanda,” Nino interjected, returning his gaze at Jun. “Jun, delete that post! NOW!”

“What are you talking about? I don’t understand,” said Jun, feigning innocence. “Move away, please. I want to finish this. Rumours said Dr Strange might appear in the last episode,”

“He won’t appear,” Nino said coolly. He had watched the show last week so he knew what’s going to happen. With a smirk, he continued. “Wanda will leave Westview and she will…”

“SHUT UP!” Both Aiba and Jun yelled. Nino smiled sweetly at the two of them. Even though it wasn’t enough as a punishment for what Jun did to him, Nino was happy to see the annoyed look on Jun’s face. He felt bad for spoiling the show to Aiba but well, his poor roommate was just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

“She will hear his sons’ voice asking for help and then the show ended,” said Nino innocently.

Both Aiba and Jun threw a pillow at him.

“How dare you spoil the show!” yelled Jun, nostrils flaring.

“You started it,” accused Nino. This was not his fault. “You put me up for sale,”

“Put you up for sale?” Asked Aiba confusedly. “What are you talking about?”

As it will be hard to explain, Nino ran to his room to take his laptop. Then, he showed the website to Aiba, pointing at the videos that Jun posted as well as the details about him.

“He sold me at 20000 yen!” Whined Nino. “And look at the products description. He says I am annoying, complain a lot, play games all the time and will never do any housework so it will be a waste of money to purchase me. Am I the one at fault here? He started it!”

“It’s your fault,” Jun was quick to defend his action. “I ask you to do the dishes before you play your games. But, you didn’t do it. So, this is your punishment,”

“Okay, I admit it is my mistake. But, this is too much, Junny!”

He deliberately emphasized the nickname, knowing how much Jun hated being called like that.

“You deserve it, lazy bum!” retorted Jun. “You always neglect the housework. I warned you before but you always ignore me. So, this is your punishment!”

“Whatever. Delete that post now!”

“Never!” Jun stuck his tongue out at Nino. “You already spoiled WandaVision. So, what’s the point of deleting it?”

“Delete it!”

“Are you deaf? I won’t delete it. If you want it gone, why don’t you purchase it?”

“You are so stupid, Junny! Delete it now. If not, I will…”

“What will you do? Do you think I am afraid of you? Of course not! You are just…”

“SHUT UP!!!” shouted Aiba.

Both Nino and Jun immediately stopped their silly squabble. Aiba was known as the gentlest among the three of them. He would never raise his voice unless he was angry.

“Both of you, apologize to each other,” ordered Aiba.

Nino and Jun eyed each other, unwilling to do what Aiba had said.

“It’s not my…” Nino tried to say something but he changed his mind when Aiba glared at him.

“Sorry, Jun-kun,” said Nino, almost mumbling.

“No one can hear you, Nino. So, say it louder,” said Aiba firmly.

Nino sighed but as he was afraid of Aiba, he didn’t object.

“Good,” said Aiba once Nino apologized to Jun properly. “Now, it’s your turn, Matsujun,”

The smile that was on Jun’s face immediately died. He seemed hesitant but, in the end, he apologized to Nino.

“Now, Nino, you must promise that you will not neglect your housework anymore unless it’s an emergency. And, playing video games is not an emergency,”

“Okay. But, Junny has to delete the post first,”

“You hear him, Matsujun,” said Aiba. “Delete the post now,”

But, Jun wasn’t paying attention to Aiba anymore or the conversation they were having. He was staring at his phone with his eyes wide open.

Aiba shook the man slightly, causing Jun to take his eyes off his phone.

“Jun, delete…”

“I can’t,” Jun cut him off.

“What do you mean you can’t? Just delete it,” said Nino angrily.

“Because someone already purchased you!”

“WHAT?”

A/N: I hope this is not weird. I have this idea from a random tweet so I quickly wrote it and neglect It's Kazunari, not Kazuya. But, don't worry. This story will be super short. Perhaps only 2 or 3 parts.
Let me know what you think of this okay? It will be very much appreciated :)
And, in case I accidentally spoiled WandaVision to any of you, I am so sorry.
