Jun hummed happily as he went through the door to the hospital lobby. He held a bouquet of flower in his right hand as the plastic bag in his other hand swung with every step he took. He would glanced and smiled he past every single mirror or just glasses that reflected his reflection, checking on his appearance to be presentable, trying to look good for the person he’s going to meet.
Smile didn’t leave his face as he greeted cheerfully at every single person he had run into; the doctors, the nurses and even patients. As he went past the hospital cafeteria, the voice of the reporter in the news on TV caught his attention.
‘… all assets and shares of Matsumoto Co. are officially transferred to Tanaka Co. According to their speaker, this is due to-’
He watched as the news informed how Matsumoto Co. being taken over completely by someone else. The company was after all his father’s years of work. Not to mention all the directors before him was all Matsumotos. He felt bad for unable to protect Matsumoto Co. from being fall into someone else’s hand. But things had happened and he can’t turn back things as before even if he wanted to. His father recent condition was bad as he was paralyzed half of his body but his mother, on the other hand seemed to be adapted with her new lifestyle. They were now living in Jun’s apartment since all their properties being taken away from them.
Jun sighed heavily before continuing on his way. As he reached his destination, he stopped outside the room, inhaled deeply before stepping in.
“I’m back~…” Jun called as he entered the room. A figure laying on the bed turned his head towards the door and smiled as he saw Jun. The smile brightened up his day and gave him strength to move forward. The laying figure tried to sit up only to be held by Jun. “Slowly, Aiba-chan, you’re not fully recovered yet… just don’t move too much… I’ll bring anything you need to you…”
“But I’m fine…” Aiba said slightly pouted. “You shouldn’t do this, Matsujun, or I’ll have you to take care of me forever…” he giggled.
“I don’t mind taking care of you forever…” Jun said as he looked intensely into Aiba’s eyes and chuckled as he saw Aiba blushed lightly.
It’s been a week since then. A week since Aiba’s operation had taken place, a week since Ohmiya couple went out of country and a week since Sho was last spotted in the hospital. Aiba had regained his consciousness two days after the operation and compared to then, he seemed more energetic now. Jun had always been right by his side during his recovery and just by doing only that he was satisfied.
Although Aiba didn’t mention a single word about Sho or asking him anything about that guy, Jun knew that Aiba was constantly thinking of him. Aiba would sometimes look outside the window with that sad looked upon his face and fake a smile when he noticed that Jun caught him spacing out. It hurt deep inside but that doesn’t matter because what matter for him now was that Aiba’s still alive after that horrible experience. He knew that the worst was that he kept from Aiba the fact that Sakurai Sho might be the one who’s paying for his surgery. But he can’t let Aiba go running into Sho’s arm when he knew that Sho’s going to hurt him again. So he decided to keep it to himself.
Ohno had informed Jun that on the day he was schedule to fly; he handed in his resighation letter to Yuri and recommended someone for the position so that the bakery will not experience any difficulties when he’s gone. He stopped by to drop the letter and the contact number of his collegue before rushing to the airport where Nino had been waiting for him. Nino’s sister’s Chisato had already been transported to the said hospital a day before thanks to Tanaka-san. The one who’s suggested and supported Nino to go aboard was none other than Tanaka-san himself as he insisted Nino to accept his kindness in favor of his late father.
As for Sakurai Sho, Jun never heard of him after his last meeting with him at the hospital. After saying that he wanted to have nothing to do with Aiba anymore, Sho left the bulding without turning back even once. Jun had never heard of him ever since; not in the newspaper and not even on TV even though Sakurai Co. recently seemed to be attracting media. It really seemed that Sakurai Sho had suddenly disappeared from his radar. Not that he was complaining or anything, now that he thought he can be alone with Aiba.
“I brought you this…” Jun said as he placed the bouquet of flower on to Aiba’s lap “… hope you like it…”
“Pretty…” Aiba lifted the flower to his nose to inhale its scent. “Eh, it’s fake…” he looked questionably at Jun.
“Yeah, since you’re easy to catch hay fever, I though it’s a bad idea to give you the real one…” Jun said as he took his place on the chair. “Why? You don’t like it?”
“No… of course I like it… thank you…” Aiba smiled as he tried to inhale the flower to stress his point despite its odorless scent causing Jun to smile too.
“So, how’s your day?” Jun asked as he took out the contents of the plastic bag.
“Same as always… check ups and pills…” Aiba said weakly as he took one manga and looked inside it “… I wish I can go out now… it’s so boring in here…”
“I’m sorry for not able to accompany you everytime, Aiba-chan…” Jun said as he looked apologically at Aiba.
“No, it’s not your fault…” Aiba said as he took Jun’s hand “… I just miss walking in the park and breathe in the fresh air, that’s all…”
“I know… just teasing you…” Jun smiled as he placed his hand on Aiba’s and watched as Aiba’s face turned pink, again. “Anyway, I’ve drop by your house and you’ve got another postcard from Ohno…”
“Really? What is it say?” Aiba asked with sudden interest.
Ohno had once contacted Jun for his permanent address so that he can keep in touch to know Aiba’s current condition. Ohno also said that he had tried to contact Sho but never got through so he decided to call Jun instead. Jun never told anyone about his last confrontation with Sho. Jun thought that since his parents were now living in his apartment, it would be better to use Aiba’s address to get connected with Ohno and since Aiba’s neighbour, Yoko had decided to help. So everyday, Jun will drop by at Aiba’s house to check his mail or just get them from Yoko.
“What it say?” Aiba asked again.
Jun turned the postcard over, read the writing and smiled at Aiba before telling him its content. “It says here that Ohno and Nino finally found a place for themselves and that Nino sister’s had fully recovered…” he stopped and read the same line over again “… and she’s getting married… seriously?” Jun’s voice was slightly higher as if didn’t believe what he was reading.
“Lucky her…” Aiba said “… I wish I can be like her…” he said inaudibly, unaware that Jun had heard him. Jun placed the postcard on the table along with another two they received before before focusing back to Aiba.
“You will, Aiba-chan…” Jun said as he grasped Aiba’s shoulders to face him. “I’ll make sure of it…” Jun assured Aiba. He closed his eyes and slowly leaned forward, closing the distance between his and Aiba’s face. But he stopped as he felt the body under his arm stiffened. He opened his eyes to see Aiba was frowning with his eyes close. Smiling sadly, Jun let go of his grip and flicked Aiba forehead gently, earning a small whimper from him.
Aiba opened his eyes and stared back with confusion looked upon his face. “Eh?”
“What do you think I wanna do?” Jun said hiding his sadness behind his smirk.
“Nothing…” Aiba said timidly and looked down to his hands. “Ah~” he suddenly looked up to Jun.
“What’s wrong?” Jun looked worriedly at him.
“Heh, toilet…” Aiba answered as he stood up from the bed.
“I’ll help you…” Jun said as he tried to hold Aiba’s hand.
“That’s ok… I can do it myself…” he pushed Jun’s hand away gently.
“Be careful then…” Jun said before sitting back down.
“Matsujun…” Aiba called as he opened the door. “Thank you…” Aiba said quietly. Jun smiled weakly to respond before Aiba closing the door behind him.

Sho stepped out of the car and looked up to the building towering in front of him. He let out a small sighed as he made his way inside. He knew that this was going to be the last time he ever stepped his feet in this place so he walked slowly and cautiously to avoid familiar faces. He stopped as he reached the room he was there for and sighed in relieved as he saw the name in front of the room showed that the person he knew was still occupying the room.
He knew he wasn’t supposed to come back to the hospital but he just can’t leave without checking on Aiba’s condition with his own eyes. His mind recalling the conversation that leaded to his action right now.
Sho closed his bedroom door with a loud thud and threw himself on the bed. He wanted to kill himself for telling Mtasumoto Jun that he didn’t want anything to do with Aiba when he knew that it was far from the fact. He loved Aiba and he knew that he could never love anyone like he loved him. But yet he had to leave him, again. He curled himself to form a ball under the sheets and cried his heart out.
He didn’t know when exactly did he fell asleep but when he opened his eyes, he can sense someone’s present in his room. he darted his eyes across the room and looked around to find his father was sitting on the couch looking at him.
“So, ready to hear the next one?” he greeted him with a question.
“Can’t this wait?” his voice croaked as a result from crying and sleeping “… I’m tired…”
“You’re going out of country in a week…”
“What?” Sho was fully awaked now that he heard that “… but why?”
“I have plans for you…” his father said “…and I intended for you to keep your promise…”
“But that’s just-”
“I don’t care what you think… just get ready-”
He snapped out of his memory when a voice calling him from behind; a breathy yet sweet voice. The voice that was once calling his name in pleasure. The voice that always came with laughers and giggles. The voice that he missed so much.
“Sho-chan…”
He turned to face a very familiar face looking back at him with teary eyes.

As he waited for Aiba to return, Jun can’t help but starting to recall back the day when Aiba regained his consciousness.
It was day 2 since Aiba’s surgery. The operation was a success but he was still need to be under constant observation. Jun sat beside Aiba, talking to him or just singing softly. The doctor said that constant communication with the patient will help a lot. Deep inside his heart Jun was still afraid that Aiba won’t forgive him for what he’d done to him as he was anxiously waiting for Aiba to wake up.
Jun didn’t know when he fell asleep. He was awakened by the movement of his hand that was linked to Aiba’s. The hand that was still holding to Aiba’s was moving on its own. That was when he realized that that is not his hand that moves but Aiba’s.
“Aiba…” he called softly but no respond as Aiba’s eyes were still close. As he tried to release his hand from Aiba to call for a doctor, the hand tightened back weakly as if refused to let go. So he just stayed there looking to Aiba until he opened his eyes slowly. Again, he tried to let go of their linked hands since he didn’t want to risk anything may affect Aiba’s recovery. The last thing he remembered was Aiba screaming histerically to get away from him at the cabin. But to his surprise, Aiba looked at him calmly and smiled weakly.
“Aiba, I’m gonna call the doctor so-” with that he let go of Aiba’s hand and call for the doctor. Jun waited outside as the doctor examined Aiba’s condition. He was too nervous and thought of leaving that place. But then, when the doctor came out, he said that Aiba wanted to see him. Jun was so relieved that he nearly cried when he went inside to talk to Aiba.
His threads of mind scattered when he heard voices from outside the room.
---
Aiba was on his way back to his room when he saw someone suspicious standing outside his room. He hid himself at the corner and watched the man fidgeted in front of his room from afar. But then realization hit him. He watched how familiar the shape of the body, and the way the hair twisted despite he was wearing a cap. He knew that very well. Slowly he made his way to the man and stopped few step closer from him before calling out.
“Sho-chan?”
The man’s snap a bit before turning to face him. He felt tears starting to form in his eyes but he ignored it. He can’t believe that the man was Sho. He wanted to go over to him and hugged him as tight as possible unwilling to let him disappeared again but his body somehow just froze on its place. Aiba stared at a figure that was looking at him in surprise without intention to move at all.
The two stood frozen as if waiting for the other to make the first move. Knowing that nothing will happen until he made a move, Aiba started to move closer to Sho.
“Stop, Masaki…” Sho suddenly said “… I- I can’t…”
“Sho-chan…” Aiba said the name again. The name he missed so much. “… But why?”
“I’m sorry, I just… can’t…” with that he walked toward the entrance unawared that Aiba was following closely behind.
“Sho!” Aiba called out as he tried to catch him causing Sho stopped right outside the building and turned back to face him.
“Don’t come any closer…” Sho said as tears started to flow down his cheeks. He turned back only to feel hand on his.
“… But Sho-chan, I-” Aiba firmly grasped Sho’s left wrist, trying to stop him from leaving.
“I’m so sorry…” Sho said looking down. “I don’t expect you to understand but I really am…” Slowly he looked at Aiba and held the hand on his wrist. He can see that Aiba been holding back his tears too. “Maybe we’re not meant to be together…maybe-” his words cut by his trembling voice. He turned away to hide the tears, facing the car waiting for him.
“Sho-chan…” Aiba called after him, hoping he change his mind up to the last second.
“I’m sorry, I love you…” Sho said softly before he got in the car.
Tears been pooling in his eyes for sometimes now. Aiba thought the sky really understand his feeling as rain fall together with his tears. he slumped down and watched as the car drove away.
“Aiba-chan, come on…” he heard Jun’s voice.
