I am also like that, I re-read everything I write and sometimes surprise myself with a turn of phrase thinking "hell, I did that. Not bad."

and yes to the making people cry, I love crying with fic and I love when I manage to make someone else cry :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I think it comes from a place where I am focused on getting better and celebrating my progress, rather than stroking my ego. Whatever the case, it's nice to reread old works. THERE IS ALWAYS A LAUGH WAITING IN ONE OF 'EM POSTS!

Maybe I've just never written such angsty fic that someone actually cried for, but I still find it weird when people tell me this-and-this happened while they were reading something I wrote. I can't picture it!

But sldkfjdf, I love that you love your longest and self-declaimed worst fic. ♥ I absolutely abhor anything I wrote when I was in high school, and thank gods that Geocities has decided to shutdown otherwise it'd still be online. :E

AND I'M STILL LOVING THAT MERLIN ONE TOO. ♥ YES. IT'S MINE, ALL MINE PRECIOUS.

I know! I rarely get emotional at fiction (mostly because I've had to deal with so much in rl, so fake stuff just... doesn't really do it for me, ya know?) except to laugh or get angry. But yeah. So much crying has been had over my fictions, ESPECIALLY that first story. Like, I had a person tell me long, long stories about how they bonded with a coworker after my story miraculously came up in conversation... years after they both had read it. o.0 CRAZY SHIT, MAN. CRAZY SHIT ( ... )

That's sort of really epic. Wow. FAOR, CONNECTING HEARTS ALL OVER THE WORLD.

I guess. :S But I look back and cringe so badly! I want to correct sentence structures, sigh at how plain or gaudy a word was, and generally, shake my head at it all! (But I think it's because this year is not the year for writing for me. D:) IT'S LIKE A ZOMBIE TOE THAT HAUNTS ME.

Sorry for being completely out of it, but what happened in NYC with the lgbt community? It didn't make news here because we're so far away. :( And to make my ignorance even more so, I don't know how spn 'living in a vacuum' fics are. :S PLEASE EXPLAIN, IM A BIT LOST. But either way, maybe just let it sit for a while? Or take it from a different character's angle. :S

...Can you do me a favor? Won't take you that long. Not long at all. Just read the first chapter of my beloved story. It's short, I promise. Just... read it, all the while knowing that real people got past that chapter, and 25 chapters after that. It's... a horror of humanity.

SPN always has wank. Always. I am not in the fandom at all (don't watch the show), but I know about the wank. An example was this horrendous fiction about the two main characters going down to Haiti after all that happened because they were doctors. And... it was just terrible. Racism. Stereotypes. And just... a lot of (I hate this phrase, but there's no other way to put it:) "white privilege" going on.

So. Around the time that I was sitting down to write the fiction, a string of attacks on and suicides from the queer community were highly publicized (I say it this way because there are always attacks and suicides, only this time the media was actually fucking noticing). One of the suicides that got the most attention was of this college boy. His roommate ( ... )
