Aww, I liked this! I'm always struggling to come to terms with Gai's character and this definitely helped.

Like I said, I am absolutely smitten with my beloved Maito-chan, and it bothers me to no end when writers portray his and Kakashi's friendship as unrequited and/or superficial. That -all- Gai offers Kakashi is some annoying challenge every once in a while. No, that just doesn't work for me. I do see Gai as being someone Kakashi can trust to confide in when he is truly desperate, and Gai would be there for him all the way~!

oh i like this...and i have come to love gai a lot...despite his flambouant behavior i believe that kakashi sees the other side that gai very rarely shows...

this is only a thought but an iruka companion piece would be good....give a little bit more on his pov....^_^
