Yay! I'm all pre-reg'd for Pennsic! So exciting!

Europe has it right -- large corporations over there focus so much more on vacation time and leisure than this country -- it might not be as fast paced or quite as productive, but time off to regroup, rebalance, relax... is so necessary to function properly on a basic human level. Some things are unexpectedly non-consensual... and then non-consensual things are done to those who perform said actions.

I, for one, often like the semi-eye-for-an-eye thing SCAdians have going one :)

I was always a fan of the semi-eye-for-an-eye approach. Steal my mug o' not-beer and I'll steal yours.

(exterior to SCA environment) Heh, I'm kind of a fan of the full on open peepers eye-for-an-eye approach, but that doesn't work so well with our constitutional ban on cruel and unusual. Basic judgements are good for minor offenses and such but I think it might be a better deterrant for the worse types of offenses.

Like there should be a loophole that goes along the lines of -- if what you do is tragic enough, now you get it too.

sadly many corporations have not yet figured out that happy employees = better quality work. and they are forced to give you vacation. if they weren't, many probably would prefer to keep you chained to your desk
