Live Report : Fort Minor @ Nokia Theater, NYC
It's been awhile I had to post this review. Each post I made sound so wrong and it was hard to found the right word to express my feelings. So I've decided to do this without thinking for once.
Some of you asked me : How was New York ? How was the show ? Before stating let me clear that. I was not at NYC that week end for the Fort Minor show but especially for the Rock Underground NYC lauch party. I took advantage of being there to go to the FM show too but my first goal was the RU party. Wanted to meet Joel and the RU crew.
Once I caught my plane in Amsterdam (after the most fast sprint I've made ever in the amsterdam airport) , I couldn't help of thinking about a sentence that Tak (SoB's rapper) said a week before when I was in chitown.
"I can't beleive you're going back to france to come back to New York. You're such a crazy girl"
Yeah crazy girl, I was going to NYC to meet people I didn't even know, to stay 4 days with them, to share an appartment with them.... Aw.. Everyone who knows me a little bit, knows how I'm a shy person in an unknown environnement especially with people I've never meet. I really didn't know if it was a good idea or not.. it was too late I was already on the plane. It was a crazy one definitely but a good idea.. Nobody knew before my came back.This week end was worth. I love me when I'm not affraid of my crazyness like that. I've met so adorable ppl. I wanted to dedicate this post to all my NYC fellows : Michi, Talie, Jean, Melanie, Cheryl, Jon, Cin, Jeanne, Jaxxy, Ema, Vanesha, Josie, Ryan, Charles.. you guys rocked. Thanks to all for this amazing time in Big Apple.
I arrived in NYC totally exhausted 'coz I slept only 3 hours the night before and my dear plane neighbourg was snoring during the whole damn flight. It was so right and so good to see Big Apple once again. I've missed to be there, I've missed this town. Cheryl found an appartment on the 34St the next door of the Empire State Building. (Wanna thanks particulary Cheryl for this organisation and stuff... you're amazing girl *hugs*). I met Mel at first.. my french canadian mate, and then Jeanne, Cyn, Ryan and .. and .. and. It was cool to meet everyone little by little. A part of the NYC gang were in the FM show in providence on saturday so no crazy night for me, one word REST if I wanted to have some evergy for the party.
Sunday came and I went for a walk alone on Time square.. I was up early coz of the jet lag. I met everyone this day.. Jon, Cheryl, Talie and someone I already know.. Michi. I was so happy to see her again and to be able to hang out with her in a better "environnement" (you know what I mean sweetie). We didn't do a lot on sunday, just chilling in NYC. We headed to Snitch the bar where the RU party took place. I met Joel. This guy is adorable. I talked a bit with him during the party hope to catch him a bit more next time. The party was cool. The bands kicked ass.. check them out :Rude Buddah, Cass Dillon. Then Styles of Beyond arrived. It was cool to meet them once again. I've finally met Vin Skully and talked a lot with him. He's such sweet really. Anyways, the party finished.. we walked 15 block till our appartment and just jump on the couch to get some sleep.
Monday... ohh Monday it was the day of the gig. It was the day of our eviction to our flat too. I'm laughing about that now but believe me I was definitely not laughing when we had to pack everthing in 10 minutes 'coz the cops were there to throw us out of the building *kick woodoo ass*. Anyways, we got a hotel on the 30th St.. more far away from Time Square but it was a decent hotel so. I think
I'm gonna keep the "What Happened in NYC will stay in New York for the next part of the story".
I don't wanna expose all the details.. I mean the ppl who were there owned the details. I remembered sharing a cab with Talie, Cheryl, Mel and michi.. that was funny. I don't think the guy believed that we gonna fit all together on the back seat tho "If you can fit you can come in" Poor guys.. he was locked with 5 crazy girls for 12 block. The show was cool, i was not really excited 'coz I've seen it the week before. The two Meet'n'Greets were cool and funny too (my cali flag is full now I'll take pics soon ;)) I wasn't really excited in an anxious way i mean, 'coz i've already met them twice and some of them 4th times. That was cool to you know just going to MG and enjoying the time, talking/joking a bit with them even with mike and then going to the show. I'm so glad that Mel enjoyed her first MG.. that was important for me *smile* when I remembered my first MG.. it was kind of special *look michi who knows what I mean she was there*.
I think i'm gonna keep on mind the spin of DJ Green Lantern before FM's set. That was great. I'm gonna keep Demigodz set on mind too especially when Tak and Ryu came in stage with Apathy and Celph.. I'm gonna keep on mind the crowd singing Believe me without any music.. that made me shiver. That was a good show definitely. After the show I was ready to go back to the appartment and try to sleep coz i got a plane to take the day after and once in france I gonna go to work directly after the landing. Michi and Talie tried during the all evening to make me tell that I'm gonna partying but they didn't succeed a lot. It was the second Mg after the show, i've chatted with the guys a bit you know How MG is. The last one was Tak. I said bye to him coz I was leaving on tuesday.. and finally I didn't succeed to be strong. He told me See you later, at the after party you have to come.. I tried to explain the rest the plane and so one but I failed and finally I said yeah see you in a few. BUT SERIOUSLY HOW COULD YOU SAY NO TO TAK SAD LOOK uhu ?? IT'S NOT MY FAULT AT ALL.. I'm weak really weak.. michi was laughing yeah I know *sighs* too weak. What happened at the after party will stay at the after party *smile and hugs my buddies aka : Cheryl, Ema, Jaxxy, Jean, Michi, and fo sho Talie*
