Continuing dying TV shows on iTunes
Andy Bowers of Slate recently wrote two articles (and podcasts) on the future of dying TV shows, specifically West Wing.
Is it feasible to produce a 9th season of West Wing just for iTunes?

Is this a possible new route for dying TV shows? If this was possible, how much fandom support could it reasonably receive? He mentions cult shows such as Arrested Development and Scrubs as possible candidates for this treatment. Firefly and Futurama also spring to mind. I wouldn't be surprised if this had come up in the Firefly fandom before now.
In any case it was interesting to see such an unabashedly fannish discussion in an arguably mainstream source.
