It was nearing dusk. Sasuke stopped at the end of the street for a little moment, eyes following the sun almost a little wearily, before he turned left to the inn where his team was residing for now

Karin had been lying on her bed for the past hour or so. If possible, she was in an even worse mood than normal. Cramps were running up her legs while a dull ache was pooled in her lower back. Laying down wasn't doing much, but it at least made her feel a little better than pacing between the rooms impatiently.

In the split second before someone knocked on the door, she was about to tell them to leave unless they wanted a couple broken limbs but instantly quelled the words when she heard the person's voice.

"You can come in," she called, rolling over onto her side.

He slid the door open, then closed it again, all with barely a whisper of a sound.

"... Your persimmons," he said quietly, sitting down near her and pushing the bag towards the girl. "How are you now?"

It wasn't like he really cared, but Karin had to be in good shape if she wanted to detect his brother's chakra signature.

"I'm still sore but I feel a little better now," she told him, pulling the bag closer and extracting a ripe persimmon from inside.

Without much hesitation she took a bite into one, ignoring the dryness that spread through her mouth. A faint smile twitched at the corner of her lips while she chewed and watched Sasuke out of the corner of her eye.

He nodded in response to her words, watching her take the persimmon, then looking away in disinterest.

"I checked on the community," he said, looking absently out the window. "It is but a virus."
