1001 Old Fantasy Paperbacks You Must Read Before You Die I would enjoy seeing the rest of this list (not that I expect you to magically produce it in its entirety).
Thank you for the review! I read 'Liane the Wayfarer' numerous times when I was younger, and loved it; let this stand as a reminder to me to pick up the whole book sometime.
The Dying Earth books are truly great. I prefer the Cugel books to the eponymous collection. I've re-read them several times.
It's not really stretching to say that Cugel's adventures are, at their best, like a perfect blend of Cervantes, Wodehouse and Dunsany. Brilliant.
I recently had the pleasure of reading Michael Shea's A Quest for Simbilis, which is a very, very good authorised sequel to Eyes of the Overworld, a pastiche of the style of Vance which meets his standard well.
The GRRM-edited collection Songs of the Dying Earth is also really good. Highly recommend it.
