Why is it in this timezone?
Its listen in EST because there needs to be a timezone. There are a number of timezone converters on the web and if you need help with converting please ask your team (or me).

So are you actually, really and truly running things on Eastern Standard Time, Tash? No Daylight Savings Time? It's fine if you are, of course! I just want to be sure.

Does Fullmetal Alchemist fit the fantasy settings at all? It's a manga/anime where alchemy is possible but it's treated like a science with rules and such.

hmmm if there are magical elements, it would count, but if it purely relies on science it wouldn't.
I haven't seen it though so i wouldn't be 100% sure

It's not strictly science per say. There's a plot where alchemy is used to create philosopher's stones from people's souls. These then become beings called homonculi and are named after the 7 deadly sins.

i would say no, but its pretty borderline.

if you wanna join JUST for that show, its probably not the best idea.

So just to be clear, something like Lost would count because it's sci-fi but with a fantasy element (like the smoke monster), whereas Dollhouse would not because everything is more scientific and explained? Or would Dollhouse count too?

And does V count as sci-fi or can it be sci-fi with elements of fantasy?

i wouldn't count Dollhouse or V (these are pretty firmly scifi and count at scifiland) as they both use science/science fiction.
I've not seen Lost, so i'm not sure, i always thought it would be scifi.

Hmm, well there's stuff in Lost like the dead that are buried in the jungle kind of whisper and the survivors can hear them. And there are a few people who've been hinted to have supernatural gifts, like a guy's son (though that was never explained) and another guy named Miles who can hear the dead's last thoughts or something.

And then there's a guy who went into a cave of light (I suck at explaining this) and turned into this other being in the form of a large cloud of smoke, but he can turn back into a person whenever he wants, as long as it's someone who's dead.

Fantasy elements, hopefully?
