Also, just a tidbit of advice. You don't have to write your book linearly. *gasp* I know it's shocking to some people but I write scenes as they come to me and create the transitions afterwards. It's a great way to get pumped up because writing a scene you want to write just gives you that much more confidence about what you're writing. You can also try writing random scenes that aren't related to your current work if you are stuck on it, because often times you just need a break from what you are thinking about as far as story line or character development goes. Also, and this is just a personal thing, but I don't outline pretty much ever. I find it blocks me in to one situation and my mind often gets bored so I like to see where the story takes me instead. In general, it is a good idea to have a plot developed in your head though. I would also recommend speed runs. During NaNoWriMo, people will sit in chatrooms with people who are also writing and set timers and bust out as much as they can and then talk about it afterwards. It's a ( ... )

Agreed, this is something I usually do if I have a scene in my head that I get really excited to write. Better to write it then instead of rushing to it.
