ANZAC Day - a celebration? a rememberance? a great day off just after Easter?

I was asked today why I think the attendance at Anzac ceremonies around Australia is increasing rather than dwindling, even though we are now more than 90 years away from the beginning of World War One. My answer was that I believe it is due to the resurgence of nationalism, primarily brought about since the events on September 11, 2001. I suspect ( Read more... )
