I'm new here and just want to make sure I'm understanding the way these prompts run correctly. I can take the above quote from Spike and do a fic that has nothing at all to do with the actual episode. Is that correct?

Welcome! I am pleased as punch that you might find some inspiration from this prompt!

This community is more-or-less focused on taking one episode at a time, but we also have a running amnesty for any episodes which we've already covered. That said, it's pretty loose. I'd say, if your fic is clearly centered around some other episode, "Destiny" for example, we'd love to have you post it here, and tag it with the "a508 destiny" tag, which will help future readers interested in that episode to find it. If it covers future episodes, just put a warning somewhere in the header/summary for people out there who don't know how the series ends.
